JIS C 4004:1992General Rules For Rotating Electrical Machines
Abstract
Standard defines the general requirements common to various
rotating electrical machines. A rotating machine is an electrical
machine which has a rotating member and depending on the electro-
magnetic induction, generates, transforms or converts (1)
electrical energy (including reactive power), or converts
electrical energy into mechanical energy.
NOTE (1) The converts of electrical energy includes the
conversion between a.c. and d.c., that of frequency or number of
phases, etc. The transforms is that of voltage alone, not
accompanying the conversions as above.
