Abstract
This Standard specifies shake flask method for the determination of partition coefficient (1-octanol/water), hereafter referred to as "Pow". Pow values in the range log Pow between -2 and 4 (occasionally up to 5) can be experimentally determined by the method set out in this Standard (see (1), (2) of Annex A). The shake flask method is impossible to use with surface-active materials.
